Vehicle Description
This beautiful 1 previous owner mark lll BJ8 was first registered 01-07-1967 making it one of the last built, in the later years of production Austin made many improvements to what is best known as the “Big Healey”. The most welcomed upgrade was power being increased from 136 bhp to 150 bhp by a new higher lift camshaft. SU HD8 carburettors replaced HS6 units increasing the choke size from 1.75 to 2 inches, increasing by 30.6%). Power-assisted braking became standard instead of optional. This was a huge help on a car like this and went on to achieve many class wins in a variety of rallies before production finished in 1968 when the last car was built.
This was a true motoring icon from the late 50’s to the end of the 60’s. A real joy to drive, the engine drives well and gear box is very smooth. The Healey really has to be experienced to feel its capability.
This specific car has undergone a very recent full body respray, new front chrome grill, stainless steel exhaust, she is also booked in for reupholstering with the seats having black leather with white piping before going into the hands of its new owner.
